The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission requires that NVOCCs renew their license every three years.

You will be contacted by the FMC via email (oti@fmc.gov) to provide renewal information and provided with an online portal logon. You will have to reconfirm all basic business information initially reported on your FMC Form-18 when you first obtained your FMC License.

If you have changed your company’s head office address, contact information (phone, fax, email), or primary contact, you must update it in the FMC’s online portal. You must also contact DPI to update your FMC Tariff and contact your Bond Agent to update your NVOCC Bond. The FMC will not update their records until they receive confirmation of your updated FMC Tariff and NVOCC Bond from DPI and your Bond Agent.

You must also report any changes to the following: Qualifying Individual (QI), organization’s structure, related entities, shareholders / directors / officers, and USA branch offices.

The license renewal cannot be used to change your company’s legal name, trade name, or QI. Contact DPI for assistance if you have a name or QI change.

DPI’s expert staff is happy to assist with renewal reporting. Simply forward us the FMC email with login info and we will complete the renewal on your behalf.
